A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The inclusion of inferencing capabilities in applications written in APL is discussed. A set of routines called APLPIE (APL programmed inference engine) that provide such facilities is described. It is shown how to write and prepare rules for use by the inferencing functions, and the functions and methods used when searching for conclusions are examined. Features that enhance inferencing and features for tracing its sessions, to facilitate testing and debugging and to explain its conclusions, are also described. Some examples are given.<>
