EMP Studies on Underground Installations
An underground communications building was illuminated with a simulated EMP of low intensity. The penetration of the electromagnetic field into the ground was measured, and the screening effect of the rebar structure of the building was determined. Induced currents on cables inside and outside the building were measured. The experiment did not interfere with the normal operation of the installation.
