Smart Technology Maturity and Smart City Initiative: Is it inline? A case in Surakarta City
Smart city can be understood as a form of city that uses innovative, integrated, and sustainable solutions to solve various problems in its urban communities. The term smart city itself has been used by urban planners and development experts in various parts of the world. However, the development of smart cities is not yet optimized in Indonesia. One of the reasons is that most of the cities in Indonesia have not understood their potential and at the same time have not applied technology-based innovation to daily governance. This study will examine the degree of innovation done in Surakarta City, Indonesia using Rich Picture. By doing so, the current accomplishment of Surakarta as a smart city can be discovered. The tentative finding shows that Surakarta City has already fulfilled most of the sectors needed to excel as a smart city, with further elaboration on the results and discussion of the article.
