Summary of radiochemical analyses of pile effluent water
A summary of data from the radiochemical analyses of pile effluent water for beta particle emitters by the Biophysics Control Laboratory, Radiological Sciences Department, is included here to assist in the evaluation of different methods of water treatment. All results are activity densities of waste effluent four hours after sampling at the inlet to the 107 basins. The data are plotted to allow visual comparison of effluent activity densities existing in different areas during different seasons of the year. Statistical comparisons were made between different areas for the same period with particular study being given to any differences existing between the pile effluent water in 100-F Area with use of the aluminum sulfate flocculating agent and effluents in the other areas where ferric sulfate was still used. 1 ref., 7 figs., 5 tabs.
