Performance of aggregate in various truck escape ramps in Colorado was monitored over a 2 year period. Samples were obtained and their distributions were determined. Freezing of aggregate during the winter months is closely related to the aggregate contamination problem. Discussion of the aggregate distributions and means to prevent their contamination in the Arrester beds is provided.
