Maintenance Dredging of Parker Creek, Virginia
Maintenance dredging of a channel 40 feet wide and 5 feet deep at mean low water from the mouth of Parker Creek to Metomkin Bay Channel (a distance of about 2,700 feet) is proposed. This is the initial maintenance dredging requirement since the project was completed in 1964. An expected 30,000 cubic yards will be dredged during the third quarter of FY 1974 by hydraulic pipeline; the spoil is to be placed on Metomkin Island. Environmental impacts are discussed.
