Community Facilities Study. Volume I. libraries
A descriptive analysis and evaluation of the present library system serving the city and county, covering the location, design, size, services and relationships of the main libraries and branches. Suggestions were included regarding service improvements in management, personnel, book collections, community relations and building maintenance. This report constituted the first comprehensive study prepared for the system. It examined the existing services and facilities, tracing progress since 1893. Library service standards of Central, Regional and Community Branches were defined. The system was assessed against these standards. Library needs were projected, based upon population forecasts and growth of communities, to 1990. (Author)
