Validation of Standard Surface Reproducibility
This final report covers a two-year investigation of skid surface reproducibility utilizing a two-wheeled skid trailer and the reference surfaces of the Field Test Centers of the Federal Highway Administration. The investigation utilized both ASTM and production tires in various sizes and constructions. The testing methods as set forth in the UTQG procedure were employed in this investigation. Statistical methods of data analysis were used to determine reproducibility of surfaces. Specific details of the apparatus and calibration procedures are discussed.
