The report is a cost/revenue study for residential development on vacant land in the city of Milwaukee. It sets forth estimates of operating and capital costs and direct revenues to the city for 45 prototypical 500-unit residential developments. Five types of housing (single family homes, duplexes, townhouses, garden apartments, and high rise apartments) at three price levels (low, medium, and high) for three types of households (single persons and childless couples under 65, single persons and childless couples over 65, and families with children) constitute the prototypes. The report provides a framework for ongoing cost/revenue analysis applicable to alternative types of residential development.
