Evaluation of Reflection Cracking in Bituminous Overlays on Concrete Pavements
The report documents the construction and evaluation of an experimental project to determine if a stress absorbing membrane, a high quality-low abrasion aggregate and a Carbon Black additive would control reflection cracking. The project included the placement of an asphalt concrete leveling course, stress absorbing membrane and a plant mix seal over an old concrete highway. None of the experimental features are recommended as future construction items.
