Evaluation of Specially Compounded Non-Permeable Elastomeric Modified Asphalt Mix (Rosphalt 50) to Reduce Chloride Penetration of Bridge Surfaces
The object of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of Rosphalt 50 overlay in protecting concrete from intrusion of chlorides and to evaluate the life-cycle costs and performance of the product compared to membrane waterproofing and modified concrete overlays. Cores were removed within two months of construction and additional cores will be removed at close of project. Permeability & chloride content will be determined and these values will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the product.
