This report provides information and analysis on the physical condition of the dam as of the report date. Information and analysis are based on visual inspection of the dam by the performing organization. The examination of documents and visual inspection of Mongaup Falls Dam and appurtenant structures did not reveal conditions which constitute an immediate hazard to life or property. The dam, however, has a number of problem areas, which if not remedied, have the potential for developing into hazardous conditions. The discharge capacity of the spillway is inadequate for all floods in excess of 79% of the PMF (PMF = 38,000 CFS), without overtopping of the non-overflow portions of the dam. The maximum reservoir level during the PMF will be 2 feet over the top of dam and during the 1/2 PMF will be 3 feet below the top of dam.
