Shrinkage Compensated Cement in Cement Stabilized Base Course
The study determines the effectiveness of using a shrinkage compensated Portland cement for base stabilization to reduce pavement surface cracking in a bituminous paved road. The performance of roadway sections constructed using shrinkage compensated Portland cement in the upper five inches of a soil aggregate base course was compared to roadway sections using a regular Type I or Type II Portland cement in a similar manner. The roadway sections were kept under surveillance for approximately two years. (Author Modified Abstract)
