A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Maline Creek St. Louis Metropolitan Area, Missouri and Illinois
The proposal includes the construction of 14 dry detention reservoirs, two wet reservoirs, park land, and recreational facilities, 14 miles of structural channel improvements, and eight miles of earth channel improvements. The proposed action would have the impact of controlling storm water runoff, decreasing stream bank erosion, removing certain open space areas from further urban development, and providing additional outdoor recreation facilities. Local entities would need to expend additional funds and manpower for the maintenance and operation of newly created park sites. The total project area involves about 800 acres of land. Normal traffic flow and living conditions would be temporarily interrupted during construction efforts.
