This invention relates to low binder content syntactic foams. They may be produced by mixing a binder resin, a flexibilizer resin and a curing agent, adding a solvent while stirring and thereafter adding hollow sphere or microsphere material, freezing the resultant mixture, subliming the solvent under evacuation until a dry product is formed, and compacting and curing the dry product to yield a low binder content and low density syntactic foam.
