A study team was established in April 1976 to review the development and process of RPM (reinforced plastic mortar) pipe as an option in construction specifications and to recommend a position for its future usage. A proposal to expand the pipe size range to include 1500-through 2700-mm (60-through 108-in) diameters was also to be considered. The study team reviewed the performance of the pipe on Bureau and non-Bureau projects to evaluate pipe design, manufacture, installation, inspection procedures, and problems which have been encountered in past construction.
