Housing Inventory for the Region: Subsidized Low and Moderate Income Housing in Southeast Michigan
The report presents data on low and moderate income housing in Southeast Michigan subsidized by eight different State and Federal programs. Southeast Michigan includes: Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties. Data are presented in tables and maps on housing in 55 different communities. A total of 31,270 dwellings available for occupancy were identified, as well as 8,401 units under development, and an additional 5,858 public housing units under application. Several categories of descriptive data about housing projects are offered. These include: the number of units, the type of program utilized, the type of building, the year completed or anticipated completion, and rental information. Figures are presented by community and then summarized for each county and the Region. The report's concluding section compares the amount of subsidized housing with the total housing stock and with indices of housing need.
