Hydraulic Model Studies of O'Sullivan Dam, Columbia Basin Project
Hydraulic model studies were made to verify the design of the spillway, approach channel, and spillway chute for O'Sullivan Dam. Discharge rating curves are presented relating spillway discharge capacity to pier location upstream of the crest, at the crest, and downstream from the crest. The preliminary approach channel design was modified to improve the entrance flow conditions. Operating criteria for the spillway gates are recommended to assure acceptable flow conditions in the spillway chute. (Modified author abstract)
