Structural Engineering Research Centre: Annual Report 1980-81
This report enumerates the major research activities of the Centre during the year. Considerable progress was made in the non-linear elastic/inelastic analysis of framed structures. A numerical model was developed to simulate the inelastic behavior of a reinforced concrete member. The major areas of research are: Development and Evaluation of Techniques for Low-cost Housing for Rural and Urban Areas; Development of Modular Concrete Products; Development of Concrete Construction Techniques; Development & Application of Polymer Concrete Composites; Analysis, Design and Construction of Underground and Submerged Structures; Structural Dynamics and Machine Foundations; Analysis and Design of Power Plant Structures; Damage to and Failure of Structures; Optimization of Tower, Truss and Frame Structures; Analysis and Design of Off-shore Structures; and Computer-aided Design and Interactive Graphics.
