A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A wood drying solar kiln was constructed with a usable interior space of 20 ft x 6 ft x 4 ft that can accomodate 2000 board feet of stickered lumber. A workshop studio, 40 ft x 40 ft and two floors high, was also constructed, banked into hillside as a passive solar structure using the envelope concept of air convection. Cooling is effected by a ventilating tower. (ERA citation 10:023660)
