A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Different types of wall panels, frequently used in Swedish dwelling houses, such as walls of reinforced concrete, brick masonry, light weight concrete and sandwich constructions have been laterally loaded with static and dynamic pressure. One way action elements in a full story high testbench have been used. Pressure load, deflection and mode of deflection have been registered. A comparison of the test results for deflection with results from a single degree of freedom analysis indicates an increase of resistance at high velocities of deflection. Different dynamic increase factors for the static resistance function have been evaluated and used in calculations of isodamage curves for the walls tested.
