Developing Effective Survey and Habitat Evaluation Procedures for Franklin's Ground Squirrels
The overall goals of our project were to (1) develop practical and efficient methods for determining distribution patterns for Franklin's ground squirrel, (2) construct a predictive habitat model for site occupancy by Franklin's ground squirrel that includes local and landscape predictors and that accounts for imperfect detection, and (3) experimentally investigate how matrix structure affects movement behavior and spatial connectivity for Franklin's ground squirrels in fragmented landscapes.
