City Planning 216: An Experiment in Professional Education
The paper reports on experimental efforts in city planning education designed to improve the competence of planners in dealing with urban crisis problems. Working generally within the context of the model cities program, a group of second year graduate students in city planning participated in a variety of workshop and fieldwork activities. Results in terms of contact with off-campus communities, roles and presentation of self on both sides, utility of the student-produced workshop output, were enlightening. (Author)
