A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Oconto Harbor, Wisconsin
The project concerns the Federal south breakwater at Oconto Harbor, Wisconsin. The project would rehabilitate the existing stone-filled piling structure by providing a rubble-mound, stone covered breakwater. There would be immediate physical and ecological modifications to the dredged channel, the north beach disposal area and the present south breakwater. Relocation of the bottom materials from the channel would temporarily disrupt the present harbor balance of plant and fish life. The vegetation on the south breakwater and at the north beach disposal site which would be lost should have no significant impact on the terrestrial ecology.
