Slope Stabilization Using 'Geoweb Confinement System'
The objective of the research project was to evaluate the performance of the 'GEOWEB Confinement System' in stabilizing eroding earthen dike slopes beneath two bridge structures in Lycoming County and to correct a slope failure caused by erosion in Lancaster County. The GEOWEB installation in Lycoming County was performed by a Contractor while the installation in Lancaster County was performed by Department Maintenance Personnel. The report will have each of these sites reviewed separately by two evaluators but the conclusions drawn from both sites will be combined in the report. The GEOWEB will be evaluated for 3 years.
