The Impact of BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) on Public Policy
The report summarizes the findings and conclusions of the Public Policy Project and presents policy implications for other metropolitan areas planning for rapid rail transit development. Impacts of BART on public policy actions and decision-making processes are assessed four areas--organization, finance, land use and transportation. These BART public policy impact findings are interpreted for each of three different types of communities--urban core, urban residential and suburban.
