Evaluation Factors, Design Requirements and Needed Research - Summary Review
The paper presents a framework for evaluation of water demands in buildings, used to review and summarize the papers presented at the Building Research Establishment Seminar on Water Demand in Buildings. This seminar was held in conjunction with the first meeting of CIB Commission W62 on Water Supply and Drainage. This framework identifies principal uses of water in buildings, the determinants of water demands, and the basic issues which must be addressed in developing improved predictive models and water supply and distributing system design procedures. Significant contributions in the seminar papers are noted, in particular experimental methodology and theoretical models.
