A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Project 1-20-1(2) 00, Haralson-Carroll Counties, Georgia
The Georgia Highway Department purposes to complete construction of Interstate Route 20-1 between the Alabama State Line and State Route 61 in Villa Rica, Georgia, as shown on the attached location map. The project traverses both Haralson and Carroll Counties and will serve both civil and military traffic. Adverse effects are of a general nature and are common to most major highway construction projects. Essentially such effects are conversions of land use, lowered groundwater table in cuts, restricted stream channels causing higher upstream water levels in times of flood and erosion which occurs during construction despite all measures taken for prevention. After a period of three to five years, negative effects as a result of initial construction should not be in evidence.
