Mechanical and Physical Properties of Densified Veneer Wood for Strutural Applications
The application of densified veneer plywood appears to be commercially attractive when used to reinforce traditional timber joints with dowel type fasteners. As part of the research to assess relevant structural properties of densified veneer wood this literature review was started. However, it does not provide a complete literature review about all different types of densified wood products, due to the enormous amount of literature, but only certain types have been considered which appear to be suitable. As most investigations date from before the second world war and were mainly located in Germany, it is hard and in many cases impossible to consult the original research reports.
