Technical Report on Housing in the Erie-Niagara Region, Second Year Study
The report focuses on the housing problems of low-income households, minority families and welfare recipients residing in the Erie-Niagara Region. Data concerning housing condition and market demand were collected via personal interviews with some 2,400 households living in 'low-income/poor housing' areas. Approximately 500 middle income urban and suburban families were also interviewed for comparative purposes. The supply of housing to low-income groups is analyzed with regard to the functions of transfer agents, landlords, residential construction unions, builders and developers and the various land use and building controls employed by municipalities.
