Constructability of Laced Reinforced Concrete Blast Resistant Structures
Laced reinforced concrete blast resistant structures have been designed and constructed for many years. Advancement in the state-of-the-art design of these facilities has surpassed advancement in the state-of-the-art in construction of the same, because qualified designers can be selected whereas the selection of contractors is left up to the free market system. To assist contractors through the learning curve of this unique type of construction, certain additional requirements must be built into the contract documents. This paper addressed a number of additional requirements which should be implemented in order to enhance the constructability of laced reinforced concrete structures.
