Oxnard Zocalo Feasibility Study
The City of Oxnard received a Technical Assistance Grant in 1976, for a proposed study of a Mexican-American Mall or Zocalo to be located in the Oxnard Central Business District. The objectives of developing this proposed Zocalo were to expand economic and employment opportunities within a disadvantaged community; and to stimulate revitalization of a declining neighborhood. The proposed development will complement the Downtown Renewal Project, the East Oxnard Blvd. Revitalization Project, and the Central City Revitalization Program.
