Finding of No Significant Impact: Final Environmental Assessment: Palisades Dam Security Enhanced Project Bonneville County, Idaho
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) prepared this Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to comply with the Council on Environmental Qualitys regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This document briefly describes the proposed action, the alternatives considered, the scoping process, Reclamations consultation and coordination activities, and Reclamations findings. The Final Environmental Assessment (EA) fully documents the analyses. The purpose of the project is to address security vulnerabilities at Palisades Dam. Corrective action is needed because the dam is vulnerable to explosives that could be carried by a motor vehicle traveling across the dam crest.
