Proposed Construction of New Federal Office Building, New Bedford, Massachusetts
The proposed action consists of construction of a new building to house the Treasury Department; Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Department of Defense and seven other Federal Agencies. The facility will consist of approximately 30,000 gross square feet on a site of approximately 50,000 square feel which will be located in the Downtown Business District within the West End Redevelopment Project Area. It is planned to provide approximately 60 on-site parking spaces for official, visitor and employee vehicles. Short-term inconvenience associated with ordinary construction activities may be expected. Socio-Economic effects to the immediate area of the proposed project. Service to the public is expected to be improved through a centralized location.
