Corrective Action Study Geotechnical Issues at Salmon Lake Dam
The Modification Decision Analysis (MDA) decision memorandum indicated that Salmon Lake Dam has dam safety deficiencies caused by the Maximum Credible earthquake (MCE) and the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) (1)1. This technical memorandum (TM) presents the results of the geotechnical studies and the modification alternatives evaluated to correct the dam safety deficiency caused by the MCE. Foundation liquefaction triggering and subsequent post-earthquake stability analyses are included. Alternatives to prevent dam failure are also presented.
