Frost-Proof and Moisture-Proof Building Foundation
An improved concrete building foundation for use in climates where frost zones penetrate the earth formation surrounding the building is described. The foundation is characterized by being essentially impervious to frost and moisture so as to considerably minimize heat loss and moisture damage caused by frost penetration of building foundations. The features of the foundation are achieved by encasing formed thermal insulating sheets within the cast concrete foundation about the entire periphery of the building with the formed sheets extending from a location below the frost line to a location above the surface of the earth formation.
