The object of the investigations described in the report was to acquire the technical information required for applying glued-on steel plating to existing reinforced concrete structures with a view to strengthening the latter. Investigation was not restricted to tests necessary for compiling dimensional data. As much attention as possible was also paid to design and processing problems, since only in this manner is there a guarantee that the method of glued-on plating can be applied in practice.
