North Carolina's Housing Element
The report discusses the relationship between the Statewide Development Policy and the Initial Housing Element and proceeds to give a statewide and regional analysis of the housing problems in North Carolina. Goals and objectives in the housing sector are recommended for the State in order to mount an attack against housing ills in North Carolina. One of the short-run objectives that will be paramount in attaining long-run objectives is increasing this State's relative share of federally assisted housing units. Consistent with this objective is the implicit commitment of the State Planning Division to improve its flow of technical assistance services to local communities and to assist the North Carolina Housing Corporation to carry out its programs effectively.
