The goal of the report is to present prescriptive criteria (tables, figures, guidelines) for the construction of one- and two-story dwellings framed with cold-formed steel members. Prior to this document, there were no prescriptive standards available to builders and code officials for the purpose of constructing cold-formed steel houses without the added expense of a design professional and other costs associated with using a 'non-standard' material for residential construction.
