Explosive-Induced Damage in Porous Sandstone
A combined laboratory and computational effort was conducted to study the effect of overburden pressures on explosively damaged porous sandstone. It was found that it was difficult to establish a dependence on confining pressure. The predominant effect of the explosion was compaction around the cavity, and macroscopic fractures were conspicuously absent. (ERA citation 05:005356)
