A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The document provides information on the ways in which 1970 census publications, maps, and public use summary files can be used in the development of sampling frames for household surveys. Suggestions are presented for the use of census materials to design and select samples for three types of areas: urbanized areas, or cities within urbanized areas; standard metropolitan statistical areas (SMSA's); and States. An appendix describes in detail an example of a sample design which might be used for a household survey in a city located in an urbanized area for which Census block data are available.
