A Survey of the Attitudes and Experience of Occupants of Subsidized Housing of Federal Housing Programs
The objective of the survey was to obtain data on the attitudes of occupants of subsidized housing concerning their understanding of their housing subsidy, their evaluations of the programs which provide it, and their support for alternative approaches to subsidized housing methodology. A summary is provided. The study identifies groups who live in federally subsidized housing by sex, age, race, income and employment status. The study measures the occupants' experiences and attitudes toward their housing, and how they see their surrounding neighborhood. The report attempts to determine who benefits financially from subsidized housing and by how much.
