Zoab Rest Levensduur (End-of-Life Situation of Porous Asphalt)
The working group 'Durability of porous asphalt' (WM11), during its operating period May 1989-December 1994, has studied possibilites for improving the durability of porous asphalt. by durability is meant the resistance to influences (temperature, moisture, loads) and processes (oxydation, stripping, cracking) caused by weather and traffic, which affect the structural cohesion of the surface layers of porous asphalt and finally cause their destruction. Also investigated was whether, and if so how, the decline in structural coherence of porous asphalts could be modelled. This could aid in the development of an instrument (indicator) for predicting the life time and durability of surface layers of porous asphalt.
