Standard Fire Test of a Wood Stud One-Hour Bearing Wall Assembly
Fire endurance tests according to ASTM E-119 were performed on unsymmetrical conventional wood stud bearing wall assemblies using 5/8 inch fire rated gypsum board on the fire side and 1/2 inch regular gypsum board on the far side. Results of the tests indicate that bearing walls of this type will meet the conditions of acceptance of the standard fire test for a period of one hour when loaded to 600 lb. per foot and will meet the conditions of acceptance of the hose stream portion of the test.
