Applications of Geogrids. Volume 4. Polymeric Geogrid Utilization in Paved Roads
The report reviews the state-of-art insofar as polymeric geogrid utilization in paved roads is concerned. Three applications are considered namely, (1) geogrids beneath or within stone base courses, (2) geogrids within surface courses and (3) geogrids beneath or within pavement overlays. The review includes published field and laboratory data as well as a description of the testing techniques used. It also discusses the available methods of analysis and design of geogrid reinforced pavements. The report ends with recommendations regarding field experimentation with geogrid reinforcement insofar as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is concerned. This is the fourth, and concluding, report in the series.
