Navigation Conditions at Cannelton Locks and Dam, Ohio River; Hydraulic Model Investigation
Cannelton Locks and Dam, proposed for construction on the Ohio River, will replace existing Locks and Dams 43-45. The project comprises two locks with clear chamber dimensions of 110 by 600 ft and 110 by 1200 ft and a 1365-ft-long, gated, nonnavigable dam, with provisions for powerhouse facilities at the left end of the dam. An undistorted, 1:120-scale model reproducing 8 miles of the Ohio River, the locks and dam structures, the hydropower plant, and other structures that affect flow conditions was used for the investigation.
