Innovative Housing Study for Grayson County, Texas
The Innovative Housing Study is an outgrowth of the Texoma Regional Planning Commission's Initial Housing Element and is designed to carry housing studies to greater depth - this to provide the basis for future action-oriented programs designed to improve the quality of housing and to expand the supply of housing for occupancy by low- and moderate-income families and by new families in all price ranges. As such, it is designed to be used as a foundation for future studies. Based on the Study's analysis of future housing requirements in Grayson County, it explores new techniques in homebuilding and land development and analyzes existing obstacles to the utilization of improved and innovative techniques. The Study is directed toward expanding the resources for the production and improvement of housing through the removal of existing obstacles to construction at lower costs, the promotion of suitable innovative types of housing, and evaluation of improved systems of homebuilding and land development, and outlining a plan for organizing resources into a framework for action.
