Lincoln Boyhood--As a Living Historical Farm
The study was undertaken to provide reliable information which the National Park Service can use as the basis for possible development of the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial as a living historical farm. The report represents a compendium of the most significant information available concerning Abraham Lincoln's Indiana years. The author reviewed all published and manuscript materials, in Washington, D.C. and Indiana repositories. Other sources studied included travel accounts of persons visiting Southwestern Indiana during the years 1806-1832, along with contemporary newspapers, gazetteers, guide-books, agricultural journals, and county records. In addition to matters of agricultural interest, the author also devoted considerable time to locating and identifying the Lincoln cabins and outbuildings. (Author)
