The plan is an expression of the planning philosophy of the town of Lewisboro with respect to its role within the region and its future growth and character. Respective sections analyze and/or plan for the following areas: The physical environment, the use and zoning of the land, population characteristics, municipal fiscal conditions, housing needs and demands, commercial services, public facilities and utilities, recreation and open space, and transportation systems. The report proposes that Lewisboro seek to maintain an overall low density environment consistent with regional plans and that higher intensity uses be concentrated in four existing hamlet areas in the form of neighborhood or community centers having a variety of commercial, public and residential uses.
