Urban Transportation Research and Development
The report presents the findings of a recent study on urban transportation and related urban development. Recognizing that current programs in this area have not had the desired impact on congestion or pollution problems, the report suggests strengthening many research and development programs of the Department of Transportation. The report further suggests that new efforts be initiated by DOT in certain critical areas of the urban transportation overall problem.
